If you could replace 'watching tv' with one activity, what would

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 04, 2007:

Almost anything. I don't think tv is inherintly evil - but the choice of things to watch (particularly if you don't spend tons of $$ on huge cable selection) is so awful. "Mind numbing" doesn't even touch how bad it is. I'd rather sort my socks!

What does a balanced life mean to you?

Finding time. Maybe that time is 5:15 in the morning when its quiet. Maybe a few minutes as I brush my teeth. Sometimes its just stopping for a breath and understanding the excellence of an inhale and an exhale.

When was the last time you visited the place you grew up?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 02, 2007:

It just so happens I live in the town I grew up in although that was not always the case. I have been lucky enough to enjoy Ann Arbor and New Orleans (5 years each) as well as my humble home town. I even have occasion to drive by the house I was born in - now a rental and not very posh even though I have memories of it as pallacial. Funny how that works.

P1000052
Funny (sometimes in a humorous way), tomboyish (including reckless behavior like jumping off the roof), imaginative ( I loved making art, making up languages, building things out of sticks and moss), fearful (afraid I would die before my parents and leave them sad), and pretty smart (until it became uncool when I was 16).

What are you grateful for today?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 08, 2007:

I am grateful for my children as corny as that sounds. They are great, really really cool kids. Not always easy since they are teenagers but sincere and engaged. And for the most part - they are concerned about the wellfare of others.

What's your dream job? Describe it.

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 22, 2007:

In some ways I already have my dream job. I am a teacher. I teach yoga and art but in two separate places. I'd like to see those two come together in a school setting that is something akin to a Waldorf school.

What was your favorite toy when you were a child?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 10, 2007:

My bicycle - it was too big for me and had belonged to my sister. It had baskets and fenders and huge tires that bounced off curbs.
